If you’re interested in therapy in Utah, consider online treatment. While an independent practice or a mental health center may be available in your area, barriers to treatment, like a lack of available providers or transportation issues, can make it challenging to find an in-person appointment.

With BetterHelp, you can attend therapy with social workers, psychologists, and other mental health professionals from the comfort of your home at a time that works for you, making treatment more accessible and convenient. This flexibility can benefit busy UT students, professionals, or parents with limited time in their schedules.

While BetterHelp does not currently provide group therapy or hold support groups, the providers on the platform can provide a welcoming environment for individual counseling and help you through your unique challenges. You can also request to have your counseling records transferred to your medical doctor or other provider if needed.

Whether you need to learn coping skills or mindfulness techniques or want to overcome past experiences, online treatment can help. If you’re looking for an online therapist, UT has many individual counseling services available. The providers on the following list are licensed to provide individual therapy online in Utah. If you need immediate support, please see the resources on our Get Help Now page.

I am a marriage and family therapist with 9 years of experience counseling a wide range of clients. I have worked with clients on grief and loss, depression and anxiety as well as substance abuse concerns. I take a warm approach with clients and use a client centered approach to therapy. I have been trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy and approach the sessions in a collaborative manner always working together with people I am working with. I respect that you took this step to seek out a listening ear and I look forward to working together with you on this journey. I was born in New York and as a young child my family moved out to Los Angeles and I have been here ever since. Growing up I was always fascinated by the field of psychology and when I was going for my Bachelors Degree I therefore choose to major in psychology. I attended Touro College Los Angeles for my Bachelors degree and then pursued my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy through Touro University Worldwide. When working with clients I take a warm and empathetic approach and really try to hear what the client is saying. Therapy can be very rewarding but it is often challenging to talk about the difficulties that we face. In session I strive to create a supportive and safe space where we can work together mindfully and without judgement to increase wellness. Thank you for taking the time to look over my profile. I look forward to working together!

Trauma is timeless. Even though it happened a long time ago, it can feel as though it is happening now. Trauma can negatively impact every part of your life. Even a simple trip to the grocery store can feel overwhelming. Work can feel impossible and few people understand. I feel a special connection to anyone with trauma because I have experienced trauma of my own. You are going to feel cared for and validated. As a symptom of deep trauma, we often try to numb our pain. Unfortunately numbing the pain also numbs happiness. Human beings are meant to experience a full range of emotion. As healing occurs you will begin to feel that you can embrace the hard times as well as fully enjoy the great times. You deserve to have a therapist who cares and understands you. Life can become peaceful, meaningful and happy. I graduated from BYU in 2009. I then went on to get a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University. I grew up near Seattle and moved to Salt Lake City when I was 17 years old. I lived in Norway for 2 years. I play the guitar, I like to ride motorcycles and cook.

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed in the state of Utah. I have experience working with children, teens, and families. Some of the concerns that I have worked with clients on in therapy include family conflict, transitioning to adulthood, long-term depression, persistent anxiety, stress, abuse, and trauma. I am an EMDR-trained therapist who has worked with clients who have experienced sexual abuse and sexual trauma. I have experience working with clients with ADHD, on the autism spectrum, and who would consider themselves "quirky". My counseling style is open and based around conversation. I help my clients to conceptualize their concerns and problems in a different light, changing the meaning of the stories they tell without changing the facts. I also help clients to develop different skills that can help to manage symptoms of distress in everyday life, such as mindfulness and meditation techniques and thought-changing skills. My counseling style combines EMDR and Narrative therapy techniques with DBT, CBT, and mindfulness skills for a whole-body wellness approach. I understand how difficult it can be to seek therapy and to find a therapist that whom you connect with. I applaud those who take the first step toward facing their issues and fears and hope that I am able to work with you to live your best life.

Hello! My name is Lisa Warden and I am a licensed Social Worker. Prior to completing my college, I worked as a massage therapist. I am very aware of the mind-body connection and how we can use our body to heal our mind. I’ve worked most of my career with helping those in recovery from Trauma, addictions, and personality related issues. These symptoms often really hold a person captive and away from the fulfillment of potential and in a constant state of survival. It gets me very excited to see a client who has been through hell, begin to thrive and enjoy life in a way they may have not thought possible. It can be very challenging to reach out for help and schedule a session. I offer a warm and flexible style (and often include humor) and I actively work to meet each client where they are and offer the encouragement and the skills to assist getting clients to where they'd like to be. I look forward to working with you!

In today's fast-paced society, mental well-being has become a cornerstone of a fulfilling life. Amid the daily challenges and stressors that can overwhelm even the most resilient individuals, seeking professional guidance often offers a path to clarity and balance. The journey toward improved emotional health involves understanding personal triggers, embracing self-compassion, and developing effective coping strategies. While self-help books and online resources provide valuable information, nothing compares to the personalized support offered by a qualified mental health professional. One-on-one sessions with experienced experts can help uncover the underlying issues contributing to anxiety, depression, or other emotional hurdles. With a careful and empathetic approach, these professionals tailor their advice to suit individual needs, ensuring that each person receives strategies that work best for their unique circumstances. Whether through cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, or other innovative methods, the aim is to foster resilience and empower individuals to take control of their inner lives. For those living in bustling urban centers, engaging in face-to-face sessions in a welcoming environment can be particularly beneficial. Access to a caring clinician provides not only a safe space to explore difficult emotions but also builds a support network essential for long-term recovery. The process encourages self-reflection and greater insight into behavioral patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed. While the journey can be challenging at times, the rewards include enhanced emotional stability, improved interpersonal relationships, and a renewed sense of self-worth. In one notable case, the guidance provided by a highly trained therapist proved instrumental in navigating a tumultuous period. Through structured sessions and tailored interventions, the individual learned to identify stressors and develop healthier responses to adversity. This experience underscored the transformative impact that dedicated support can have on one's overall quality of life. In a region like Texas, community-based initiatives and accessible mental health programs further reinforce the value of professional help. These efforts emphasize early intervention, preventive care, and continuous support, ensuring that more people are equipped to face life's inevitable challenges. Ultimately, investing in mental well-being is an act of self-care that yields lifelong benefits. By embracing professional support, individuals can unlock new levels of emotional resilience and discover pathways to a brighter, more balanced future. Each step taken toward healing represents a commitment to personal growth, enabling a life filled with renewed optimism and strength. Embracing this transformative journey consistently paves the way for deeper understanding, lasting peace, and meaningful personal progress.
